Street Children Project – Jaipur
Help children living on the streets and in slums around Jaipur get access to education, safety and a childhood filled with care instead of survival worries.
This project reaches children who spend much of their day on the streets or in nearby slums—selling small items, collecting scrap or simply roaming without guidance. Regular school is often out of reach for them.
Through informal learning centres and outreach activities, we offer a safe space where these children can learn, play, wash up and feel seen and valued, often for the first time in their lives.
This program suits volunteers who are energetic, flexible and comfortable working in less structured environments. You do not need to be a professional teacher. A calm presence, patience and willingness to repeat simple lessons in creative ways are more important than formal experience.
Most centres are located in or near slum areas of Jaipur. Volunteers stay in a guest house or host family with other volunteers, in simple but clean rooms with basic facilities and home-style Indian meals.
You can usually start on the 1st or 15th of the month. The minimum duration is 2 weeks, and you can extend up to 6 months. Staying longer helps you build stronger connections and follow the same group of children over time.
Project hours are usually during the day, leaving evenings and weekends free to explore Jaipur, visit local markets and forts, or relax with other volunteers.
If you want your time in India to directly touch the lives of children who live on the edge of society, the Street Children Project gives you a very real, human way to do that.
Your donation helps us educate children, support health camps and protect the environment in and around Jaipur.
